Alexander McQueen born Lee Alexander McQueen on 17th March 1969 has died at the age of 40. He is believed to have committed suicide.

Alexander McQueen one of Britians greatest talents in the fashion world had many accomplishments under his belt, working for Saville Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard, Gieves & Hawkes, to head designer at Givenchy and achieving the title “British Designer of the Year” four times between 1996 – 2003.

By 2008, Alexander McQueen had boutiques in New York, London, Los Angeles, Milan, and Las Vegas as well as an online store selling his ready-to-wear pieces and accessories. Star followers such as Rihanna and Lady GaGa, often wear his label.  

It’s a sad day for fashion. Alexander McQueen was due to show his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday 9th March 2010!
