Apps are definitely the way forward when it comes to brands looking to engage with us all, so to add to the numerous beauty, fashion and lifestyle applications available to us Givaudan has created the first (public) mobile perfume recommendation tool available for free download – but let’s not forget Aramis & Designer Fragrance’s ASCENT programme that is available in Selfridge’s which is such great fun!
The App is there to help us navigate the perfume market.
A personal profile is created by star rating the fragrance categories you prefer from 1 to 5, you must then search and select fragrances you most like so that you can be recommended with new or existing scents that suit your preference.
Unlike other perfume selection tools, iPerfumer does not rely purely on olfactive categorisation to make recommendations; its’ suggestions are based on an algorithmic calculation derived from the individual user and the fragrance preferences of the iPerfumer user community. Further functionality in iPerfumer allows users to find out which perfumes on the market are most liked by other perfume buyers.
It’s a great little tool if you want to learn more about any fragrance but to be honest a few of the recommended fragrances for my taste were not entirely accurate.
