If I had a list of my most favourite things, candles would most certainly be in the top five! I use them all the time; dinner for two with Mr SC, when in the company of friends and family, bubbling away in the Jacuzzi… at any given opportunity there is always a candle burning in the background!

Aveda’s Limited Edition Light the Way Candle (£15) made from soy wax is delicately scented with soothing French lavender, lavandin and clary sage sourced from the picturesque Diois region of Northern Provence. The fragrance is beautifully delicate and even has stress-relieving aromatherapeutic benefits!!

In true Aveda eco-friendly style The Light the Way candle comes in a new 100% reclaimed glass holder made from recycled wine cooler bottles and the outside carton is made from 55-70% PCR paperboard.

So, the question on everyone’s lips is, where does the money go? Aveda will be donating a generous £12.76 per candle sold to its Global Earth Month partner Global Greengrants Fund (GGF), to help provide small grants to grassroots organisations working for clean water, clean air, sustainable livelihoods and healthy communities around the world. If all the candles were sold a whopping $1.2 million would be raised!

In addition to this the Global Greengrants Fund will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of candles to the Lambi Fund of Haiti. The fund supports clean water projects for Haitians displaced by the recent earthquake.

A beautiful product for a wonderful cause!

What with the weather now becoming quite frosty all of a sudden over the weekend, I’ve noticed my (SiSi) lips become terribly sore OUCH!

My faithful cinnamon and clove Aveda Lip Saver (£10.50) had run out and crisis set in… what was I going to use? My luxe minty Créme de la Mer Lip Balm (£36) was only for bedtime and to be used sparingly on special occasions because of its fancy price tag.

OP Therapy saved the day with their Lip Restorer (£5.95)… Phew! I haven’t let it out of my sight since I got it on Saturday and it’s been soothing my sore pout remarkably well ever since, it must be the moisturising emu oil that does the trick! Reminding me of Lemon & Lime Slush Puppies I used to buy as a kid it brings a smile to my face and a feeling of relief on my lips.

Crisis over!!!
