<p><span id="more-3695"></span>Since the Beauty Awards launched in 2006, product participation has risen each year and maybe too much considering the point of these awards are for members to vote accordingly on reflection on whether products have or haven’t performed by testing them out.</p>

<p>All in all we heard it was a great night apart from numerous people being told off by the President in a headmistress-like manner for taking too much in an additional bag and in front of all to see, OUCH humiliating..! Their argument I quote: “<em>how are we meant to vote if we cannot fit the product in the bag to take home and test</em>?” <strong>Answers on a postcard</strong>!</p>

<p><em><span id="more-3440"></span>Background info</em>: KISS IT BETTER is the brainchild of Carmel Allen whose daughter Josephine was treated at the hospital for Neuroblastoma &#8211; a type of cancer. After many months spent at the hospital, and struggling to reconcile life as a Beauty Editor, Carmel decided that she wanted to help and devised the KISS IT BETTER appeal.</p>
<p>Clinique has created a special <strong>Limited Edition Smoothie Kisses Lip Gloss Set </strong>(£22.50) featuring the latest lip launch from their <strong>Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Antioxidant Lip Colour</strong>. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just when you think you&#8217;ve tried all the skincare products around to help compact <strong>adult acne </strong>and feel it&#8217;s time to give up, another brand claiming to give blemish relief crops up and of course <strong>SensiChic </strong>are here to put it to the test!</p>
<p>With a name like <strong><a href="http://www.thedoctorbrand.co.uk/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #333333;">The Doctor Brand</span></a> </strong>it immediately made me think of those awfully smelly and drying topical solutions I was prescribed for my acne as a teenager so of course it felt right that Miss Cynical made a brief appearance and thought twice about trying the products. <span id="more-3299"></span></p>
<p>Well, that was until I dug deeper to find that <strong>The Doctor Brand </strong>has not only been created under the supervision of a panel of doctors, the products are also free of these harsh ingredients such as drying Benzoyl Peroxide and is also sulfate and paraben-free&#8230;Result! <strong>The Doctor Brand </strong>offers a <strong>Blemish Relief Started Kit </strong>which contains the <strong>Purifying Cleanser</strong>, the <strong>Po</strong><strong>re Clearing Gel</strong> and the <strong>O</strong><strong>il-Free Soothing Lotion &#8211; </strong>A simple 3 step routine which claims to give clearer skin in a matter of weeks.</p>
<p>First of all I love the simplicity of  <strong>The Doctor Brand; </strong>the packaging is fuss-free, slightly clinical looking and the products are almost fragrance free so you&#8217;re not scared they will sting your eyes or cause any unsightly peeling. I started to notice a difference to my skin after about 3 weeks where some inflammations on my cheeks had calmed down and I wasn&#8217;t experiencing any more break-outs. The <strong>Purifying Cleanser </strong>has a clean, almost untraceable scent and lathers rather nicely, whilst the <strong>Pore-Clearing Gel </strong>is instantly refreshing and rapidly dries to a smooth finish with no stickiness as does the <strong>Oil-Free Soothing Lotion </strong>which is also light and hydrating. I was warned that the combination of the products could cause some slight dryness, but I didn&#8217;t experience this at all. My skin actually felt hydrated and fresh without any dryness insight.</p>
<p><strong>The Doctor Brand </strong>has definitely exceeded my expectations and overall all I saw a real improvement not only to the fewer and fewer spots I was experiencing but also to the overall tone and texture to my skin. The fact that these products are also free of any nasties gets the <strong>SensiChic </strong>seal of approval and I would without a doubt recommend this range over the <strong>Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions </strong>range, which in my opinion is too harsh, smells chemical laden and didn&#8217;t help my acne at all.</p>
<p>Unfortunately since finishing the course of <strong>The Doctor Brand</strong> I have experienced some break-outs which to me just goes to show that you can&#8217;t cure acne solely with skincare products, no matter how good they may be. Acne is a much deeper problem (something my amazing nutritionist <a href="http://www.elainemummeryacneclinic.com/index.php" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #333333;">Elaine Mummery</span></strong></a> has taught me) and yes a good skincare routine like <strong>The Doctor Brand</strong> will help to keep the problem under control and encourage healthy skin but it won&#8217;t totally erase the condition, you need to find the core of the problem!</p>
